Tulsa Oklahoma midwives specializing in home birth

Congratulations! Your search is over, you have found Tulsa's most experienced home birth midwife.

There is nothing more rewarding to us than being a part of your family.

If you have made an informed decision of delivering your baby in the comfort of your home, you have come to the right place.

If you're only considering home birth, we have many Oklahoma moms and dads willing to share their experience with you.

Many of those families have started with us and we have helped the family grow. We are privileged to have participated in the arrival of 1,000+ babies.

Your experience with us won't end after your child has arrived. We will be there for you with the experience of a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and professional midwife.

Reclaiming birth

Pregnancy and birth are normal events of life. You have the choice as to where and how your baby should be born. You are in control.

We are dedicated to support you and your birth plan.

Our hands-on approach ensures our senior midwife knows all there is to learn about you. Equipped with this knowledge, her presence, care, help and support when you deliver is guaranteed.

A senior experienced, professional midwife will be at your side during your child's arrival.

Quality care is what happens

Only a select few are fortunate enough to share the birthing experience with Gentle Hands Maternity Care.

In order to make sure you have our utmost care and attention, we only accept a limited clientele every year.

We are not trying to help with as many babies as possible. Our goal is to provide experience, quality, expert and professional care to a limited few.

Midwifery Model

We have been offering the families in the Tulsa and surrounding area the Midwifery Model Care for over 24 years.

The Midwifery Model of Care is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal events of life.

The Midwives Model of Care includes:

  • monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
  • providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
  • minimizing technological interventions and
  • identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention.

The application of this model has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)

A Certified Professional Midwife is a knowledgeable, skilled and professional independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the midwifery model of care. The CPM is the only midwifery credential that requires knowledge about and experience in out-of-hospital settings.

Some of the options with a CPM include continuity of care, family participation, water birth, and vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC).

Midwives and assistants are dedicated to informed choices and safe, gentle birth for you and your baby.
